We would like to say a huge welcome to Michael, our latest recruit to the Bridge House team.
Michael is our Advocate and Prevention Transition Coach and will support residents when it comes to attending appointments. After considering residents thoughts and feelings we were able to identify what they felt was missing from their support and that was having someone attend with them to appointments where they felt they were not being listened to or they lacked confidence.
Michael will also be putting in preventative measures by going into schools and other agencies to educate people in relation to homelessness; how people can become homeless and the impact this can have.
We now also have an in-house Sexual Health Clinic and BBV Testing Service which Michael is responsible for. So far, this has proven very successful with our residents. Michael works closely with local GP services to get our residents into treatment should they need it.
Michael is a valuable member of our team and we are grateful to be working alongside him.
