Bridge House Mission, a charity who provides supported accommodation to homeless people has distributed 200 sleeping bags among organisations to hand out to individuals in need.
Bridge House Mission has accommodated 1000’s of homeless with multiple complex needs since 1978, giving them shelter, food and vital 24 hour support, making it one of the longest standing Charities in the area.
Go Outdoors and Bridge House Mission, have worked in partnership to help support the local community. Go Outdoors, Portrack Lane, asked its’ customers to donate £3, and for every £3 collected they would donate a sleeping bag to Bridge House.
Bridge House received 200 sleeping bags and are ensuring they reach the people who truly need them.
Louise Lefevre, CEO said, “I would like to thank Go Outdoors and their customers for such a fantastic contribution. We believe that we can distribute these sleeping bags to reach the most vulnerable and in need members of society, and what better way to do it than to work in partnership with other organisations to reach as many individuals as possible. Many people focus on the great work food banks do, but neglect the fact that these individuals also need shelter and warmth.”
The sleeping bags will be distributed to;
- Stockton Town Pastors
- The Tabernacle Church
- The Salvation Army
- Away Out
